LOVE HAS AN OPEN ENDING - PART 3 : SUNSET LOVE

"Ray is that you?" A familiar voice calls from behind. The busy street somehow masked the sound. Ray stops and processes. "Did someone called me right now?" He wasn't sure. He feels a hand on his shoulder and turns. " Oh my god! Krissy?" He was shocked to see her face after such a long time. " It's been around 10 years right? " She counts back the time while Ray was still in shock. How can they meet after such a long time in a place he never expected to even see a familiar face. " What are you doing in London? " Still perplexed by this encounter, he slightly pinches his hand to check if he is dreaming. " Well my office is just round the corner . What about you? Do you live here? " How could she look pretty much the same after such a long time? Only her hair had golden streaks now which complimented her midnight black hair like a ray of sunshine. " Umm.. yes. Wow! World is actually such a small place. " They both smile and go to a coffee shop to reconcile about the past. Earlier they met in a time of their lives when everything was new and exciting. He often thought what he would say to her when they meet again. How he will open his heart to her and tell how traumatized he felt because of what she did. But, life changes you. Make you harder, shows you how life is not a big thing to be disturbed about. Reminiscing about the past , they laughed about how young and stupid they were. How they tried to change themselves for someone and how hurt they got about the smallest things. " It was soo nice meeting you again Ray. Keep in touch. " She said smiling, looking straight into his eyes like the first time they met. " For that you have to unblock me first. But don't read the messages that will be shown after you unblock. Those are extremely embarassing especially now. " They both laugh and with a heartfelt hug, move towards opposite sides of the street.

They started meeting more and more after that. Most of which were not planned. Life is a funny story. Sometimes you don't meet in 10 years. And once you meet, you start stumbling across the same person again and again. In grocery store, in parks, in restaurant, in the most random places, they met. It was like the gods were rooting for them. The good memories of past became clearer and clearer. The bad ones somehow got shelved. The chemistry blossomed like a flower, and every time they met, it felt like fireworks. And finally, under a starry night, on a New Year's eve, standing in a park surrounded by flowers, when the clock struck 12 and the sky was lit by fireworks, Ray got down in one knee and proposed. Within a year, they got married. Finally, they felt complete. Like a jigsaw piece had finally found it's perfect match. When we are young, we change for the person we love. When we grow up, we understand that we don't have to change. We just have to find the person who embraces our flaws and love us for who we are. Being in true love is not happily ever after. Being in true love is like sunset. A beautiful sunset soothes your heart, provides you warmth and makes you anticipate the beautiful starry sky of the night. But, it fades away as the sun comes up. Similarly in true love, there are problems in between the couples, not everything is perfect. But as the day sets, you mend your bridges, hug each other and stare at the beautiful sunset. The warm hug prepares you for the night and tells you, that no matter how many problems we will face in the day, this is where I belong at night. This is my solace. This beautiful place in between the other person's arm is what you call home.

So, they fought, they cried, they even came close to separation. But every sunset reminded they what home felt like. Ray and Krissy fighting all the odds kept moving forward. And the day finally came, when a new member was ready to join the place between their arms  they called home. It was their baby girl! The moment Ray had his eyes on her, he became the same kid who fell in love with a flower years back. It was like the first love. He knew he would change for this angel, he would adapt for her and although he never thought he could ever love someone more than her wife, he knew his love for her daughter was on another level. He smiled as he picked up his precious one in his arms. He looks at her pearl blue eyes and pink face staring at him. A tear drops from his face onto the baby's cheek and she smiles at him. " It's crazy how love again and again invades our life isn't it Krissy?" He smiles and looks at her wife who is lying on the bed affectionately looking at her home being complete now.

Love is twisted, love has rough edges. Love is far from perfect as we all are taught in our stories and folklore. You don't have to find love, it finds you. Sometimes you have to grab onto it, sometimes you have to let it go. Don't understand love, just feel it. The only thing that's constant in love is - Love always has an open ending. You might be heartbroken, you mught be beyond repair. But on a random day, you will meet a random person. That person will mend your broken pieces in just a moment. Sometimes it's easy to find, sometimes it takes years. You only lose the game of love when you stop living. So keep loving your life and love will find you in a mysterious way.
